The latest windows 10 update (not yet public), has a bug where if a zip archive extraction fails windows will delete the contents of the zip file without notifying you. Luckily this update is not released to the public yet, but it is the second bug with this update after it was released to early adopters and pulled after it was deleting users my documents in certain situations.
As always, updates are important to stay on top of, but you may want to defer windows update until they can fix there quality control.
